Buttons Galore!

Hi there, after I mentioned to someone the other day that I take all my card scraps and turn them into buttons with the  Button #5 Sizzlits die I thought I'd better do something with them!

As you can imagine, my 'button' bag is full of all sorts of coloured buttons, so I had an enjoyable 5 minutes playing around with colours and this is what I came up with.  No sewing required!

What I used:

Card:  Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Whisper White - buttons are an assortment of SU card.

Tools and other fun stuff:  Scallop border punch, Framed Tulips embossing folder, Buttons #5 Sizzlets die.

Greenhouse Gala Scrapbook page

Look what we made last night at Keryn's Krew meeting!  Isn't this scrapbook page simply gorgeous?  I feel so pleased with it, love the colours, the layout, thanks Keryn for designing such a delightful project for us.

It is 6"x6", just the right size to fit one photo on it and what I really like about it is that even though the page is decorated with DSP and floral embellishments the photo is still the main focus which I personally feel quite strongly about!

It has a secret pocket at the top where you will find a journalling sheet (blank at the moment).

Last year before Leo started kindy his hair was getting really long and curly and I wanted to record it for posterity as quite likely he will end up with dark straight hair like his siblings, "mothers' vanity" I call it LOL!   I think I have a snippet of his hair somewhere which may just fit into the pocket in a wee envelope.

What we used:

Card:  Crumb cake plain and textured card, Gala Greenhouse DSP, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzaz, Chocolate Chip.

Tools and other fun stuff:  cork sheet, 1" circle punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Early Espresso 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Blossom Party Originals die, Big Shot.

Bright Birdie Birthday

I came across a very bright colour combo in Colour Q last evening, and I thought that punches would be the way to go this time.  The only substitution I made was I used Old Olive instead of Green Galore which is a retired colour I don't have - but I think Old Olive worked very nicely as a substitute.

I have been very restrained with glitter lately, so today I got it out and sprinkled the centers of the flowers with it, not sure if it will show up in the photos though.

What I used:

Card:  Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, White, Old Olive.

Ink:  Rich Razzleberry

Stamp Sets: Sincere Salutations

Tools and other fun stuff:  Top Note Die, Bird punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Stamp-a-majig, glitter.

Why don't you pop over to Colour Q to see what other interpretations of these colours people have come up with!

Happy Anniversary mum and dad

My mum and dad are on the last week of their holiday here in NZ at the moment, but have gone north to see other aunts and uncles.  They will be celebrating 56 years of marriage on the 16th July!

Here is the card I made them, very simple and straight to the point I think - Life happens, love helps!  I thought it was a very appropriate sentiment for them at this stage of their lives.

Orange and green are a 'family colour' so to speak, my great-grandmother used to embroider for a living and we still have her left-over floss and it's mainly orange and green!  I know mum will like the colours I've chosen for her (and dad's) card.

Mum and Dad earlier this year enjoying a day out at the Wellington Botanic Gardens

What I used:

Card:  Tangerine Tango, Certainly Celery, White, Old Olive, Very Vanilla snippet, for the center of the flower.

Ink:  Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red.

Stamp Sets:  Vintage Vogue

Tools and other fun stuff:  Top Note die, Lots of Tags Sizzlits die, Bird Punch, Swiss dots embossing folder, 1/4" circle punch.

Matchbook mini album

One of the many perks of becoming a Stampin' Up! demo is the monthly magazine packed full of useful tips and projects to use at your workshops.  In the latest issue it featured a "Matchbox" Mini Album which I replicated this afternoon.  Earlier this year I joined a swap of 'handmade items' so this little book is heading off to the UK in a couple of days, hope Sylvia likes it!  I know she has a few grandkids so she may like to pop a few photos of them in it and use it as her brag-book!

I'm really pleased I purchased this set as a clear set and it was very easy to line up the stamps on the pages.

Finished measurement is approx 4x4" to give you an idea of size, and I used every single stamp in the Vintage Vogue set to decorate it inside and out.

What I used:

Card:  Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake

Stamp Sets:  Vintage Vogue

Tools and other fun stuff:  Piercing tool and mat pack, bakers' twine, Square Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' sponges.

Treat box

Had fun making this little treat box last night using the Top Note Die - I had received a similar from Sharlene at Christmas last year and thought I'd use her idea with a different stamp set.  It fits 4 tiny Moro Gold bars just perfectly - yum!
Here my version, love the trailing vine stamp from Vintage Vogue, so delicate and pretty!

Chocolate bars just peeping out!

Here is the original one received from Sharlene.

What I used:

Card:  Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie

Ink:  Soft Suede, Old Olive

Stamp Sets:  Vintage Vogue, Fresh Cuts

Tools and other fun stuff:  Boho Blossoms punch, 1/4' circle punch, 1/8" Old Olive taffeta ribbon, Top Note Die,     Basic Pearl.

Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers.

Stamps sets:  Autumn Days, Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Tools and other fun stuff:  1 3/4" circle punch, Word Window punch, piercing tool and template, Scallop Border punch, Square Lattice embossing folder.
