Friday challenge over at Keryn's Cards
It's not to late to join in Keryn's challenge for this week - here is my take on her challenge, to use Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.

Using Pastel colours - a blast from the past
Over at 365 Cards the challenge today is to create using pastels only - my first reaction was "hmmmmm, I'll bypass this one I think!"
Then of course I remembered the easiest way to get over a tricky situation - in cardmaking at least - is to use punch art, so went to my little bag of pre-punched shapes. [I'm that kind of crafter who only throws out the tiniest card scraps, everything else gets punched out starting with the larger punches, ending up with a 1/4" circle punch LOL! After that, it goes in the bin....
The card I have here today is tiny, 2"x3", and the punches were 3/4" circle, 1/2" circle and 1/4" circle. The strip at the bottom was a leftover from punching yesterday's piece for the tag - how thrifty is that!?
Colours used are: Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Certainly Celrey, Pear Pizzaz, Crumb Cake, Pool Party.

Punch Art birthday card
A few days ago Dawn Olchefske published a video tutorial on 'viewmaster cards' and it looked quite simple and fun so thought I'd try it out. Of course I soon realised I didn't have any number stamps for my age wheel so had to die cut some and glue them through the whole - not so much fun!
The night before I had made a little creature - I think he's a teddy bear - so slowly it all came together, though the teddy evolved from an Old Olive one (which explains the Old Olive 1/2" circle under the brad!) so then I had to add a strip of the same colour at the bottom just to balance things out.... and yes, I'm rambling on again!
My biggest fan is my 4 year old and he DEFINITELY approves of this one, I can assure you it has been thoroughly child-tested and nothing has fallen off so far - that's a relief!
What I used:
Card: Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, White, Pool Party
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip Marker
Stamp Sets: Bold Birthday (retired)
Tools and other fun stuff: 1" circle punch, Ornament punch, Word Window punch, 1/2" circle punch, 1/4" circle punch

Still on the subject of rockets...
Well, after all the amazing work the teachers at kindy put in to the Rocket Festival I thought I'd better make them a thank you card to accompany a little gift - and of course it had to feature rockets!
I did a quick search on Splitcoast Stampers and found the idea for the moon (with a whole lot of craters on it!) and sort of got an idea how to make a rocket and I was ready to make my card.
Punch art was the way to go today and with only three punches I made the rocket - if you have the "Pennants" punch you could use that one too for the tip, fins, etc. (hmmm do rockets have 'fins'? I know fish do, not so sure about rockets....)
I'll be making a few more of these to keep on hand for birthdays, that's for sure!

Apple Tree
The embossed 'apple tree' panel on this card really started out as an exercise, I wasn't intending to put in to good use. Even when it was finished, it sat on my cutting board for a couple of days until I decided to give it a good home - a nice Riding Hood Red base! I hadn't realized how fantastic this particular red looks with the Certainly Celery - will be using it again in the future that's for sure!
It was the first time I got to try my Square Lattice embossing folder, I had seen quite a few examples of this technique, usually involving hearts or flowers, and was keen to try it out.
I punched the tree out of Certainly Celery with the Wide Oval Punch, punched some red 'apples' with a 1/4" punch, hand-cut the tree trunk, did some sponging with Old Olive and Bashful Blue - glued it all together and rolled it through the Cuttlebug using an embossing folder. And that's pretty much it really, I matted it with Certainly Celery and then glued it onto Riding Hood Red. It's just right for this time of the year when apples are coming into season!
What I used:
Card: Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, White
Ink: Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
Stamp Sets: None
Tools and other fun stuff: Wide Oval punch, 1/4" punch (non SU), Stampin' sponges, Square Lattice embossing folder.

Red Butterflies
I know.... second post today!
Just a quick card to show you today, I like the little butterflies made with the Heart to Heart punch, thought they turned out very cute.
I used the colour combination on Diva Coffee Break's challenge this week - Real Red, Basic Gray and Pink Pirouette - as I don't actually have any of the ink pads in those three particular colours I went for a 'punch up' instead!
What I used:
Card: Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Basic Gray
Ink: Basic Black
Stamp Sets: Butterfly Prints, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Tools and other fun stuff: Heart to Heart punch, Wide Oval punch, Large Oval punch, Scalloped Oval punch.

Bright and Cheerful Fish!
I made this card purely for the joy of it, I saw this inspiring colour combination at Diva Coffee Break and just had to try it. I still remember my first reaction when I saw Stampin' Up!s bright collection early last year and thinking OMG they are so bright, I'll never use those and purchased a pack of Rich Regals instead... and guess what? Little by little my card collection has grown and now it's mostly brights!! You just have to love those cheerful colours, so full of life.
When I posted my Eastern Blooms for a Friend card earlier on I was reminded that I could also use my Large Ornament punch to make fish, I had seen quite a few examples of this punch art technique but had never tried it myself until now. I think they turned out really cute, the scales are made with the 'offcuts' from the scallop punch - I had originally intended using the scallops instead but then chose the 'scraps' to adorn my fishies - the scallop was used at the bottom edge instead!
For the 'fish tank' I embossed the background with dots, then cut wavy slivers of Old Olive and Certainly Celery for the 'seaweed', and finally glued a strip of scalloped Peach Parfait at the bottom for 'gravel' (and to hide the ends of the 'seaweed')
The fish all ready to 'swim' in their new tank!
The completed card, the fish are popped up with Dimensionals for a slight 3D effect.

Card: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Peach Parfait
Ink: Basic Black Stampin' Write marker
Stamp Set: None
Tools and other fun stuff: Large Ornament punch, Heart to Heart punch, Scallop Border punch, swiss dots embossing folder.
